Narrabundah Rowing Club (NRC) and the ACT Academy of Sport are proud to host the Yarramundi Head for both rowing boats and kayaks.

The series will be conducted as in previous years, with races held over 4.1 km from Yarramundi Reach to near the AIS boatshed with boats leaving at 1 minute intervals. Prizes will be awarded for a wide range of categories

The series will be conducted each fortnight with a small boat class (including kayaks) one fortnight and a "Big boat" class on the next event. The "Small boat" class will consist of 1x, 2- and kayaks. The "Big boat" class will consist of 2x , 4x , 4+ / 4-(these will be treated the same in the point score) and 8+.

Start Time:

9.30 am at Yarramundi Reach (Scrivener Dam) with boats leaving at 1 minute intervals. Kayaks will leave at 9.20am.

Registration and Entry costs:

Entries open at 8.00am on the day and close at 8.50am on the day.

The entry fee will be $5 per seat per event. Coxswains are free.

Point Score:

The following point score system will be used:

1. An entrant is only eligible for the point scores competition if entered in the appropriate event.

2. Points will be scored based on the results from the handicap giving "the number of boats" as points for first with the one less point for each subsequent position.

3. The categories are to be scored using mens and womens divisions for the boat classes listed on the weekends above.

Prizes:

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

· The mens and womans single scull handicap winner on the day

· The mens and womans Perpetual Trophy for single sculls for the series

· The Accumulated mens and womans point score in each boat class.

· The fastest men and woman in each class over the series

· The most improved mens and woman kayaker

Handicapping:

A handicapping scheme is to be used to handicap entrants.

Cancellation:

The following conditions apply:

1. In the event of unsafe weather conditions on the day of an event, the event will be cancelled.

2. The organisers will determine if the conditions are unsafe and will notify all officials and entrants.

3. Entrants starting fees will be held over and used for the next event.

4. Entrants can contact Geoff Perman (0413 982 203) on the day to find out whether the days event is being held.
