New RACT Board Member

Tobias’ involvement in rowing started at 14 as a school and club rower at the Wellington Rowing Club, New Zealand, and progressed to rowing for the University of Waikato and on the New Zealand Junior, Under 23 and Senior teams from 2008 to 2013. Some achievements included an Under 23 World Championship title, World Cup medal and a Concept 2 World Record for the 60 minute erg.

Since moving to Australia Tobias has been involved in University and School rowing programs as an athlete, coach, administrator and volunteer. Prior to calling Canberra home, Tobias was the Head of Rowing at Kinross Wolaroi School and founded a program which was recognised in 2019 at the World Rowing Awards for its contribution to sustainability. Settling into Canberra, Tobias is the Head of Rowing at Canberra Grammar School and is excited to contribute his experience, skillset and perspective to the Rowing ACT board.

Tobias Wehr-Candler

Prior to working in strategy consulting, and while competing as an athlete on the New Zealand rowing team and Tobias was heavily involved in scientific research and education program development. He holds a Master of Management and a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) and has studied with the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
