The next Winter Time Trial is on the weekend of 12-13 September. Entries are due with ACTRA a week beforehand, and earlier with your club. World Rowing Championships – Finals this weekend This weekend sees the finals of the World Championships in Poland. In particular, Canberra’s Sarah Cook is racing in the W2- on Saturday night. Reports are available at Rowing Australia and the events can be watched on streaming video at WCSN as advertised on the Rowing Australia web site.

Rowing Aust. looking for Operations & Logistics Manager The National Rowing Centre of Excellence invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Operations and Logistics Manager. The position is full time and will be based in Canberra. This positions primary purpose is to effectively manage the logistical and administrative operations of the NRCE and in particular the planning and conduct of international team tours, national training camps and selection trials. Melbourne Uni Boat Club turning 150 -advertisement The Melbourne University Boat Club turns 150 on 3rd September and the committee has commissioned a history of the club which is a “fabulous publication about the history of the club, the Yarra, Melbourne and the University. The World Junior Rowing Championships ended on the weekend in France with Amy Fowler (JW4x) and Angus Moore (JM4+) both came second in they A final. A fantastic result for both of them. For all the Australian results, see the Rowing Australia web site.
The forth time trial weekend in the 2009 series is on 15-16 August. Entries through clubs are due at ACTRA this Sunday. See your club for details. Winter Time Trial #4 – call for BRO assistance ACTRA is requesting assistance with running WTT#4. Volunteers are required for either or both Saturday and Sunday. Please coordinate through your club, or directly with ACTRA. Boat Licence Course – 23 September NSW Maritime will be running a boat licence seminar and test in Canberra on 23 September. The course will be run at the Canberra Grammar School gymnasium. Details and bookings are available from your club. Level One Rowing Coaching Course – 06 September A Level One Rowing Coaching course is now open for bookings. It will be held at the Canberra Girls Grammar School Aquatic Centre at a cost of $170 per participant. Bookings must be made through the rowing clubs and clubs must submit nominations by 30 August. There are limited seats available. World Junior Rowing Championships – in progress The World Juniors has been running for a couple of days. Detailed results are available from the FISA web site. Provisional results for this morning’s small boat time trial have been published here. Under 23 World Rowing Championships The U23s have commenced in Racice, Czech Republic with three ACT athletes competing – Lauren Burraston, Louise Kilby and David Wright. Lauren (WL4x) and David (M4x) are straight through to the final after winning their heats. Louise (W4-) was 3rd in her heat but then missed out on the A Final in the repechages.
