Australian University Championships – Reverse Traffic Flow on the Regatta Course

With the Australian University Championships coming up from the 9th – 13th September, Rowing ACT are developing plans to help ensure that all members of our community and our visiting universities are safe and supported when training and racing. With the universities predominantly being based out of Weston Park, we have determined that a reverse traffic flow on the regatta course will be the safest option for the week of competition. Therefore:

From 12:01am Monday 9th September, through till 11:59pm Friday 13th September, the following traffic pattern will be in place on the Regatta Course on Yarramundi Reach outside of competition hours:

  1. Crews travelling TO the start line should travel up the Eastern Edge of the course beside Weston Park, utilising lanes 6 and 7 where necessary.
  2. Lane 5 is a buffer lane with no rowing boats allowed. Coaching boats may use lane 5 at to traverse to the start with high precaution
  3. Lanes 1-4 will be utilised for training and racing work travelling from the Start Line in front of Government House to the finish line. Eights and Quads should utilise lanes 3-4 with small boats utilising lanes 1-2

Rowing ACT greatly appreciates the cooperation of our community for this period. The University Championships are an exciting time for rowing in the ACT and we cannot do this without our community support.

Please do not hesitate to get in contact with myself if you have any questions.
