Col Panton & WTT Series Presentation / Brekkie – Sunday 9th October

Following the Col Panton Marathon there will be a presentation of the WTT Series Point Score Winners, the Col Panton trophies and Head of the Molonglo medals.

The Head of the Molonglo medal winners were the fastest boat in each category. See the results HERE.

We will also be recognizing our World U23 Champions Luke Letcher and Caleb Antill.

ACTAS NTC TT#1, 23/24 September 2016 CALL FOR ENTRIES

Entries are invited for the 1st ACTAS, NTC TT Time Trial of the 2016-17 season to be held 23rd (1x/2-) and 24th (big boats) September, 2016

ELIGIBILITY Competitors eligible to enter must be registered members of RACT, and comply with the RACT Status Rules governing competition. All competitors are required to wear their club racing uniform. All athletes are required to participate in a supervised weigh-in on the day.

LIGHTWEIGHT LIMITS Lightweight competitors will have their weight recorded prior to racing however; there is no set weight requirement from Sept to January 2017.

Job Advert – Canberra Grammar School Head Coach (Rowing)

The role of the CGS Head Coach is to assist the Rowing Co-ordinator with programming and coaching responsibilities. In addition to coaching a specific crew, the Head Coach will demonstrate leadership in developing the tone and culture of the CGS Rowing Shed. Key tasks are as follows:

 Develop and monitor training programmes for both the junior and senior shed

 Coach development (including monthly meetings)

 Crew selection

 Develop and lead the co-ordination of Boat Camp in September and January

 Attend local and interstate regattas

 Some administrative tasks as necessary

Lake Burley Griffin closed to primary contact

Lake Users,

The National Capital Authority (NCA) wishes to advise the community and Lake Burley Griffin (the Lake) recreational users that the Lake is closed to swimming and full emersion activities. This follows advice from the ACT Environmental Protection Agency that the Queanbeyan Sewage Treatment Plant has gone into diversion mode, resulting in the heavy rainfall inflows exceeding normal operational capacity.

Warning signs have been erected around the Lake and sporting groups notified. The risk to human health is low due to a high dilution rate from recent rains, but precautionary measures are being undertaken. Further measures, including washing your […]

Logs in East/Central Basin

The recent rain has washed a number of logs into the East/Central Basin’s of LBG.

The lake contractors have been notified that this area needs clearing.

Crews are advised to steer clear of affected areas until clearing has occurred.

U21 Australian Team Training Camp – Canberra

The U21 Australian Team will arrive in Canberra for a pre departure camp on Thursday September 1st until they leave for NZ on Monday September 5th.

They will be training after 8am most sessions.

Please show courtesy to these crews as they conduct their training.

Winter Time Trial – Series Update

Jordan Thompson (BMRC) remains a dominant force, leading the pointscore for the Killer Cup. He is 2 points clear of Tom Perry (CRC).

Ruby Gambale (CRC) has stormed through the pack to lead the W1x event (Cirulis Plate), 3 points clear of Sarah Taylor (CRC).

All four WTT races have been held with strong entries in 2x, 4x & 8+ events.

LTRC Oringo has been overtaken by BMRC Trowell in the Quads.

The hotly contested doubles event is lead by CLRC Yamamoto/Nichols with BMRC Leitch/Young and CRC Ninham/Wilkes nipping at their heels.

Rowing Australia is providing fifteen women in rowing with the opportunity to attend this special event.

Rowing Australia will be facilitating a two-day workshop that will be delivered by Melbourne Business School (MBS) to be held in Canberra on Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 November.  MBS ranks among the top global business schools and have tailored the workshop specifically for sport.

The workshop develops an individuals capabilities to progress within rowing as an administrator, coach or official, and to enable them to effectively manage the challenges within their sport and life in general.
