Capital Lakes RC Regatta – Results

The results of last Saturday’s regatta can be foundhere. Revised rowers scores will be circulated during the week. Vale Ross Barnes – Rowing Queensland

Bundaberg Rowing Club Inc has advised that their Vice-President and Vice- President of Rowing Queensland , Mr Ross Barnes, past away following a long illness on Wednesday 24 January. The funeral service will be held on Monday 29 January at 2.30PM at the Des Allen Funeral Chapel , Toonburra Street, Bundaberg followed by a Private Family Cremation. Further particulars can be obtained from either Dave Amos on 0741522707 or Bruce McCarthy on 0741518088. Ross was also very active in Masters rowing.

Capital Lakes RC Regatta – draw available

The final draw information for the regatta this Saturday is here: schedule; draw; draw 2; program. Remember to check the time of the event as well as the race number as some events are run together. Regatta notes:

  • All crews are required to stop prior to rowing around the finish area to ensure there is not a race approaching. Crews should then proceed with caution around the finish line buoys.

ACTRA Seminar – Noel Donaldson on many things about rowing

A map of the traffic arrangements for rowers on LBG can be found here. We would like to remind everyone that when reaching Kingston or the dam, don’t row to and from the turn on the same path – row across at least 100m to ensure you are not rowing back on the path others are using to approach the turn. Visitors on Lake Burley Griffin

Please welcome Sydney’s St Ignatius (Riverview) College over the coming 7 days. They will be arriving in Canberra tomorrow for a rowing camp. They will be here until Friday 26th. They are aware of local traffic flows. Riverview will be using the buoyed course on this Friday morning from 6 8am for time trials. They are aware that there are other crews on the water at that time and will be as accommodating as possible during their trials. The RA National Camp that started last week, ends this coming Sunday.

Australian Youth Olympic Festival – presentation to ACT Rowers 11 January

Canberra rowers who will be representing the ACT at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival, January 19 21 in Sydney, will be presented with their ACT racing zooties and team uniform at the Boathouse Restaurant at 8:30am this Thursday 11th January. The presentation will be made by the Minister for Sport and Recreation and representatives from the Australian Olympic Council. Media will also be in attendance.
