SAFETY REMINDER – LIGHTS AND TRAFFIC FLOW

It’s starting to get colder and darker in the mornings. As we approach winter it is more and more important that rowers think about safety.

Please ensure that the Watercraft Safety on Lake Burley Griffin Traffic Flow Guide is followed and that all boats (rowing boats/tinnies) are lit in the dark with white light visible from 360o. Remember that overtaking vessels have a legal obligation to keep clear and give way to boats on your starboard (bow) side.

2014 Fluidesign single scull for sale.

Dark red hull with clear carbon top deck.

Reverse wing alloy rigger.

Crew weight 80kg – 90kg.

Boat weight 13.9kg.

Boat has a couple of cosmetic scratches through normal use, but overall in excellent condition.

Boat is located in Canberra, but can be delivered to Nationals or Edward Trickett
regatta.

BOAT DRIVERS NEEDED – ACT CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS WEEKEND

Rowing ACT have a severe shortage of available Boat Race Officials for this weekend’s regatta.

To ensure that the regatta has enough volunteers to run Rowing ACT is seeking the assistance of club members. We need licensed boat drivers to transport Rowing ACT umpires up and down the course.

Masters Sprint Races at Sydney International Rowing Regatta

Great news for masters rowers! This year, 4 masters rowing races are being included at the Sydney International Rowing Regatta in Penrith, March 23 to 29. These will be sprint races over 500 meters: a men’s and a women’s quad, and a men’s and a women’s eight. These are open to all masters rowers, so now is the time to get your crews organised and the training started.

Radford Sculling Trials – Sunday 24th January

Radford College will be conducting grading trials on the Yarramundi course this Sunday 24 January, and again on Wednesday 27 January.

The trials will be run in lane 7 and scullers will carry bow numbers to indicate that they are racing.

The trials will be held from 7:00am till approximately 8:30am on both days. Marshalls and time keepers will be present to supervise crews and start them in the correct order.

Radford respectfully asks for the help of clubs in minimising interference during these times.

2016 RACT MASTERS STATE SELECTION POLICY

The RACT state selection policy for the Interstate Regatta at the 2016 Australian Masters Rowing Championships (Lake Kawana, June 2016) has been announced .

All Rowers, Coxswains and Coaches wishing to nominate for the 2016 ACT Masters Rowing Team must follow the RACT 2016 Masters Selection Policy HERE.

ST JOSEPH’S COLLEGE VS LOCAL CREWS – 13 December

St Joseph’s College is here for a training camp. Their 1st and 2nd VIII’s will be taking on two local crews tomorrow morning the 13th of December. There will be two races down the 1,800m rowing course; one at 9am and another at 10am.

Other crews are kindly asked to be respectful of this racing and steer clear of the rowing course at these times.
