NTC Time Trial #3 – Friday 21st / Saturday 22nd November

ACTAS will be conducting the second of its monthly NTC Time Trials this Friday and Saturday mornings. Details below

PLEASE GIVE WAY TO PARTICIPATING ATHLETES. THEY HAVE PERMISSION TO TAKE THE SHORTEST COURSE POSSIBLE.

Friday Time Trial – Small Boats:

Start – 7:00am

Course – Participating athletes will be trailing from the white poles (finish of the Winter TT Course) to Kingston Harbor between 7:00am and 7:45am.

Regatta 2 run under calm conditions

After a very blustery start to the Regatta season, which forced  our first Regatta to be brought to an early finish, Regatta 2 ran under calm conditions.  Temperatures were also moderate just missing the heat wave conditions on Friday.

Do you have your NSW Boat License?

The AFP have been and will continue to crack down on non-licensed operators of powerboat vessels on Lake Burley Griffin. They have provided lake users a brief summary of requirements of power boat users here. They advise the following:

“1. Licenced Operators
All drivers of a conventional powerboat must hold either a current:
– powerboat drivers licence issued in any Australian State or Territory, or,
– a ‘TL3’ certificate issued under the Australian Yachting Federation National Powerboat Training

Blind Auction in support of our rowers – two return tickets to Europe

Rowing ACT is raising funds, through a blind auction, in support of the 2014 Junior and U23 Rowing Representatives from the ACT.   The auction is for two return Singapore Airline tickets to Europe.

Bidding closes 4 PM Friday 7 November.  Further details can be found in the Blind Auction Singapore Airlines flyer.

Please consider  bidding.  You may end up with cheap flights to Europe!

Col Panton Start List and Trophy Presentation

Start List:

The start list for the Col Panton Marathon has been published.

Trophy Presentation:

Following the marathon the presentation of trophies will take place at Canberra Rowing Club.

A rowers breakfast and coffee van will be available from 8:30 at CRC. Breakfast will cost $5.00.

The following trophies will be presented at 9:00am:

  • Panton Shield (1st across the line)
  • Skippers  Trophy (fastest boat)
  • Stegman Trophy (fastest coxed four)
  • Cootapatamba Cup (1st quad scull across the line (the RACT website is incorrect, it says fastest))
  • Black Pete trophy (fastest boat not containing AIS/SIS/SAS athletes)
