Rowing Memorabilia Project

Rowing Australia, with the support of the Bobby Pearce Foundation and Sport Australia Hall of Fame, has launched a project to secure and display very significant rowing memorabilia which is being auctioned shortly. These memorabilia items include the Olympic Gold Medals won by Bobby Pearce Jr in 1928 and 1932.

Rowing Australia is seeking generous donations to ensure that these valuable and significant pieces of Australian rowing history are not lost to the Australian sporting community. Call for entries Winter Time Trial #2, 16th and 17th June 2012

The second of Rowing ACT’s 2012 Winter Time Trials will be held on the 16th and 17th June 2012. The format of the event is singles and pairs on the Saturday, doubles, quads, fours and eights on Sunday. Rowing ACT is willing to accept double entries on Saturday, however crews must be early novice. Clubs need to be aware these crews will NOT be competing in any official category and will not be awarded prize or point score rewards.

The course is 3km long and runs from near the Governor Generals wharf, around a turning boat near the 1800m start, […]

2012 Scullers Head of the Yarra

Race the country’s longest and oldest flat water sculling race, which is held annually on the lower reaches of the Yarra River. The race starts at Hawthorn Rowing Club located at the foot of Bridge Rd Bridge. Passing beneath 10 bridges as it winds its way through Melbourne’s leafy suburbs of Kew, Toorak and South Yarra. Passing along the edge of the Botanic Gardens, Olympic Park and the tennis centre and finishing almost in the heart of the CBD

Exciting Australian rowing coaching opportunities

Rowing Australia Ltd is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) for key positions in its national high performance system.

The national high performance system incorporates the National Rowing Centre of Excellence (NRCE) and the network of State Institute and Academy of Sport Rowing Programs.

The NRCE is a joint venture between Rowing Australia (RA) and the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). It incorporates RA’s High Performance Program and the AIS Scholarship and National Camps Programs. Seeking 2012 Masters State Team Nominations Update

Rowing ACT is seeking nominations from Masters Athletes wishing to be considered for the 2012 ACT Rowing Team to compete at the 2012 Australian Masters Rowing Championships. This year’s Championships will be held in Ballarat between the 22th and 27th May.

Calling for 2012 Youth Cup Team Nominations

Rowing ACT is currently seeking nominations from lightweight rowers, heavyweight rowers, coxswains and coaches for the 2012 Youth Cup Regatta to be held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre between the 28th June and 1st July 2012.

Athletes must be under the age of 21 as at the 31st December 2012.

Nominations are due by 5pm Sunday 22nd April 2012.

Selection events will be held between 26th April and the 5th May as per the Event Requirements.
