2009 Youth Olypmic Festival this week
The YOF starts on Wednesday and runs until Sunday. The ACT has a great team of young athletes going. The rowing is at SIRC, Penrith on Saturday and Sunday and if it is like previous events, entry is free. You can see more information at the YOF web site and the rowing program is here. But NSW Rowing Association is running the regatta and all the real information will be here. ACT Youth Olympic Team practice regatta this Saturday
In preparation for next week’s Youth Olympics, the ACT team will be running a mini regatta on the Yarramundi Reach course on this Saturday morning. Program consists of three sets of two events at 07:00, 07:20 and 09:00. Please show consideration and keep out of the way. Coaches, please don’t wash off the crews. If you have a visiting rowing camp group at your boatshed, please tell them about this.

- Sunday, 11 January 06:30 to 11:00 – Tarcoola Reach partially closed and Lady Denman Drive closed for a triathlon run from Black Mountain Peninsula.
- Friday, 23 January 17:30 to 19:30 – Central Basin partially closed for Canberra Challenge Triathlon.
- Saturday, 24 January 12:00 to 17:00 -Central Basin partially closed for Canberra Challenge Triathlon.
- Sunday, 25 January 06:00 to 10:00 -Central Basin partially closed for Canberra Challenge Triathlon
- Sunday, 15 February 07:30 to 10:00 – Yarralumla Bay and nearby section of Alexandrina Drive for a triathlon.

Radford Regatta – Results Published
The results of yesterdays regatta have been published and can be found here. The first two hours of the regatta had light to no wind, and then it picked up to 35-40 kpm/h with gusts to 50. This resulted in some races being shortened and running starts from the 1500m start. Triathlon on LBG this Sunday, 07 December
Triathlon ACT has advised that a swim leg of a triathlon will be held on Tarcoola Reach on Sunday 7 December. It will have a buoyed course outside the Radford boatshed that will enable traffic on the water to go around it. The swim will be 09:00-10:00. They will also be conducting a cycling race on Lady Denman Drive which will result in a road closure from 08:45 until 10:00. Daramalan Regatta – Spectacles found
A pair of spectacles were found at Yarramundi Reach spectator area last Saturday. If you wish to get them back, please contact the ACTRA office. 2009 Australian University Rowing Championships in Canberra The Australian University Sport Rowing Advisory Group has agreed to hold the next AURC event on Yarramundi Reach. Daramalan Regatta – races cancelled, not postponed
The remaining races from last Saturday’s regatta that were not run due to the weather will NOT be run this coming weekend. There have been some discussions on this, but it is not possible to organise. See your club for refunds or credits of seat fees. Radford Regatta – Call for Entries The last regatta before the new year is on 06 December and entries close this weekend with your club. The same list of events is offered as was for the Daramalan Regatta.
