Call for Entries 2013 Head of the Molonglo Marathon

This year’s Head of the Molonglo Marathon is to feature a similar course to last years, designed to test your endurance. The event will be conducted on Sunday 27th October starting at 7:30am.

Entries close 5pm Monday 21st October.

This years event features 4 Men’s and Women’s boat classes over a 10.2km course. Where 3 or more entries are received for one of the following boat classes the winning crew of the class will receive prizes.

  • Men’s Open Eight
  • Women’s Open Eight
  • Masters Men’s Eight
  • Masters Women’s Eight
  • Men’s Club Coxless Quad Scull
  • Women’s Club Coxless Quad Scull
  • School Boy Coxed Quad Scull
  • School Girl Coxed Quad Scull

Race Format

This years race will commence adjacent to the Water Police facility in Yarralumla and will conclude off the tip of Black Mountain Peninsular. The course is a challenging 10.2km lap including East, Central and West Basins. Crews will start in single file in order of boat class.

Masters events will be handicapped as per the Rowing Australia handicapping rules. Crews with a higher average will start with a standard handicap multiplied by 10.2 (10.2km). For example a masters women’s grade G eight would start with a 6 minute and 17 second handicap over a grade A eight.

Seat Fee

A fee of $8.00 Inclusive of GST will applied to each seat. Coxswains are exempt.

Entries

Entries close 5pm Monday 21st October and are to be submitted by clubs via email to actra@rowingact.org.au. Clubs must insure they use the template entry form and include average age for masters eights.
