The 43rd Annual Disher Cup Regatta was held over the weekend in fine conditions. Congratulations to all those who competed.

CGGS will be conducting a selection time trial on the rowing course on Friday 25 October. The course will be over 1800m and boats will be rowing down lanes 5/6. First boat will depart at 6:50am, last boat at about 7:05am. We would appreciate wash being kept to a minimum & those lanes being kept free during this time.CGGS Rowing apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

The 43rd annual Disher Cup Regatta between ANUBC, ADFA and RMC will take place this Saturday 19th October 2013. Racing commences at 8am with the Women’s single Sculls and concludes at approximately 9:30am at the conclusion of the Men’s Coxed Eights competing for the Disher Cup. Presentations will be commencing at 10:00am within Grevillia Park.

Racing will be conducted between Museum Point the Boat House restaurant in Grevillia Park. This racing will be conducted via the most direct route along the southern side of Central Basin. Rowers are requested to vacate the area well before 7:30am keep well clear until racing has concluded.

If any one does row through the area during the regatta they are asked to obey any directions from the safety officials.

Event 1. Disher Cup Regatta

Saturday 19th October

The annual Disher Cup Regatta between ANUBC, ADFA and RMC will take place on Saturday morning between 8am and 9:40am. Racing will be conducted between Museum Point and near the Boat House restaurant in Grevillia Park. This racing will be conducted via the most direct route along the southern side of Central Basin. Rowers are requested to vacate the area well before 7:30am keep well clear until racing has concluded.

Event 2. CGS Selection Time Trial

Saturday 19th October

CGS will be holding a 1500m single scull time trial this Saturday the 19th of October on the race course. Boats will be marshalled from the 1800m in lanes 6 & 7. The first boat will start at 6:20a.m with the last at approximately 7a.m. while rowers will not be restricted from accessing the rowing course coaches are asked to keep wash to a minimum.

Event 3. ACT Dragon Boat Challenge

Sunday 20th October

This year the Dragon Boat (previously; Dragons Abreast) Challenge will be held on the Yarramundi Reach rowing course. The regatta is an annual event which focuses on breast cancer survivorship and raises money for both local and national breast cancer related charities.

Racing will commence on Sunday at 8am and conclude at 12:40pm. The course is to utilise a 400m section of the Yarramundi Reach Rowing Course between approximately the 850 and 550 metre marks. All lanes are to be used in a northerly direction. Rowers are asked to keep clear of the area during the event. We all need to share the lake and be considerate.

Entries for Rowing ACT Regatta #1 to be hosted by the Canberra Girls Grammar School on 2 November 2013, close 5pm Wednesday the 23rd of October. Clubs that have not submited their entries by the deadline will not be able to participate.

BRO’s and regatta volunteers needed

The 50th Colin Panton Marathon was held in great rowing conditions. a 5 degree morning, little or no wind, fine sunny conditions.
24 crews raced from the Molonglo River to Weston Park.

The Panton Memorial Trophy for line honors was won by Henry Bowyer fromCLRC. A fine effort by Henry.

The Black Pete Plate for fastest women’s crew that are not supported by rowing scholarships was won by the CRC/ANU crew of Louise Parry/Anna McCormack/Cathy Starling/Sarah Tynan.

The Skippers Shield for fastest crew over the course was won by the CRC crew of
Matt Buchtmann/Matt McCormack/Michael Cusack/Tom Perry.

The David Stegeman Trophy for the fastest coxed four was by the ANU crew of Mitchell Kingham/Richard Furmage/Natasa Jovanovic/Sally Villegas/Isabella Basaglia (c ).

The Cootapatamba Cup for the first quad across the line was won by theCRC/ANU crew of Sue Donohoe/Randal Lawrence/Elaine Bissaker/Peter Macartney.

Congratulations to all rowers that competed.

You are invited to join us at the Rowing ACT Presentation Season Celebration on 20th October at the Canberra Southern Cross Yacht Club, Yarralumla from 1pm.

We encourage all rowers and those involved in rowing to join us to celebrate achievements throughout the past year and catch up with friends, fellow clubs members, BROs and even your competition.

The afternoon will include the postponed Summer Season presentations, the Winter Time Trial Series presentations and the Singapore Airlines ticket draw.

Tickets for the event are a modest $30 which is intended only to cover the cost of the event. This includes a selection of cocktail menu items and one ticket to enter the draw to win two return Singapore Airlines tickets to any of their European destinations.

We hope to see you there!

We would like to thank all who have assisted within administration and on water official roles particularly our anonymous handicapper and point scorer who has spent many late night filtering through previous results to ensure all competitors receive the appropriate handicaps. Without these invaluable contributions this years series would not have been the success it was.

The 2014 World Rowing Masters Regatta Race Schedule/Order of Events is now available.

The program has been changed for 2014 to start on Thursday 9 October at 9:00 am and create time on Saturday afternoon 11 October for catching up any delays in racing. Should the time on Saturday afternoon not be required to make up racing a fun, free-entry time trial event around beautiful Lake Wendouree will be held, with entries being taken during the regatta. More details will be available soon.

The regatta Project Board would also like to confirm that the regatta seat fee has been confirmed as $45.00 AUD. Entries are to be submitted via Regatta Central.
