Visiting Schools to the ACT – HOST CLUB RESPONSIBILITIES

Over the January – February period several of our member clubs will be hosting interstate schools out of their facilities. These schools will be undertaking approximately week long rowing camps on Lake Burley Griffin.

Rowing ACT would like to remind host clubs that it is their responsibility to brief visiting school athletes and coaches on:

  1. The Lake Burley Griffin Safety Traffic Flow Rules – http://www.nationalcapital.gov.au/attachments/article/2739/Lake-Burley-Griffin-Safety-Traffic-Flow-Guide.pdf
  1. Coach Boat Etiquette on Lake Burley Griffin – http://rowingact.org.au/a-reminder-on-coaching-boat-etiquette/

Careful briefing of visiting clubs will significantly reduce the possibility of conflict between these school and the Rowing ACT community / other lake users.
